A traditional Potjie (pronounced POE-gee) pot is pot belly shaped cooking pot standing on 3 legs to put it at the proper height over a campfire.  Long used in Africa, they have caught on worldwide as the perfect outdoor cooking pot for all kinds of foods from baked beans to stews and roasted meats. They are perfect for slow roasted BBQ favorites like pulled pork and beef brisket.

Potjie Pots come in many sizes, from a small mini pot to a 19 plus gallon cooking kettle. Potjies include well-fitted lids and strong carrying handles and are made from all cast iron. They have three legs and the rounded bottoms to create a rolling boil motion that prevents food from sticking. Potjie Pots are necessities for versatile outdoor cooking though our flat-bottomed Potjie Pots can be used on any stovetop.
